As Syracuse's first Chief Data Officer, I led the creation of the city's open-data program.
The work behind the portal
Public datasets were scattered across systems and departments. We paired the public portal with a data inventory, publishing standards, a privacy policy, and a process for departments to publish information.
My role involved working across city agencies to establish that shared practice. The program also established the city's first open-data policy.

This account describes my earlier work in city government. The current DataCuse website is my independent collection of Syracuse projects. It is not an official city or county website.
