My career has moved through government, consulting, enterprise technology, civic work, and a fair number of side experiments.
The through line
I tend to be drawn to complicated systems with real stakes. Sometimes the work means building a capability from scratch. Sometimes it means finding a better way to make a decision. Sometimes it means helping people turn an idea they are excited about into something they will actually keep using.
Where I've done it
Today I lead Data & AI work at Insight Partners. Earlier, I was Syracuse's first Chief Data Officer, where I built the city's first data office and helped establish its open-data program.
I've also worked in consulting, taught graduate courses, and stayed involved in the institutions and projects that make Syracuse an interesting place to live.
Why Syracuse still matters
Public-sector work shaped how I think about accountability, constraints, and usefulness. A system can be technically clever and still fail the people it is supposed to serve. I carry that lesson into every environment.
Outside the job description
I'm based in Syracuse, New York. I care about cities, libraries, public institutions, and the odd small project that helps make a messy thing a little clearer.
